The Malaysian Organisation of Volunteers (MOVe) is a registered not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing a platform for Malaysian students across Sydney to engage in volunteering initiatives that aim to assist disadvantaged individuals in both Sydney and Malaysia.

Much of the organisation’s drive is built upon the foundations and wisdom of its predecessor organisation Persatuan Pelajar Muda Sydney (PPMS), a student society that provided various social activities for Malay students residing in Sydney. In 2015, acting President Fareez Razak, made the key decision to several volunteering initiatives such as distributing food to the needy as well as the bush regeneration program.

In 2016, PPMS engaged in a radical transformation that rebranded the organization into a fully- fledged volunteering organization. It was subsequently renamed the Malaysian Organization of Volunteers and was registered as a not for profit organization under the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC). Several new projects were created under the year’s acting President Suwarna Ramanathan to reflect MOVe’s new missions and visions, including initiatives into distribute hygiene kits to the homelessness as well as having a day panel on the issue of women’s rights.

A look into our past.
